New Release of Wayward Pines Kate’s Redemption

Wayward Pines Kate’s Redemption is finally released and I’m pretty happy with the way this novella turned out.

I hope you enjoy it too. At only $1.99, this short story tells Kate’s story of her integration into Wayward Pines. Did you ever wonder why she was so compliant when Ethan found her?

This novella, Kate’s Redemption, is based on the popular book series Wayward Pines by Blake Crouch with a special agreement through Kindle Worlds.

Kate knew Wayward Pines couldn’t be hell though she had her doubts at weaker moments. If only she could find the truth about the town where everyone knew your name and hid behind simulated smiles that defied the fear in their eyes. The rules were there for a reason. If you violated those rules, the phone would ring with deadly consequences.

At times, Kate believed she deserved this place after the moral crime she committed with Ethan Burke, but this redemption was far more than she could take and it was only a matter of time before her will would break.

Pick it up today for quick weekend read. Kate’s Redemption

Cover Reveal & Wayward Pines Giveaway!

A few announcements. Now that The Malefic Nation is awaiting the final editing, I have all this spare time to waste? Not exactly. While the Malefic Nation is on PreSale, I’ve been busily working on another short story for Kindle Worlds. Some of you may have heard of the series by Blake Crouch. Not only is it a Kindle Worlds, it’s also been adapted to television. Wayward Pines is a hit summer TV show starring Matt Dillon. The novella for Wayward Pines will be based on the series and not the TV show, however. There are many differences between the two.

I encourage you to read the series and enjoy this world. My upcoming Kindle Worlds addition to the Wayward Pines series is titled Kate’s Redemption which will be based on the untold story of how Kate assimilated so well into Wayward Pines…or did she? Here is the cover reveal for Kate’s Redemption. I’m looking for a quick release on this one. As always, I will let you know the upcoming date.

(In addition, please wait to purchase The Malefic Nation until I give you the special upcoming pricing dates which will only be announced to those on my newsletter list.)

Also, the audiobook for The Last Infidels, narrated by Jim Cunningham will be released on Amazon, Audible and iTunes any day now and this same narrator will begin The Malefic Nation by late summer.

To celebrate Kate’s Redemption, I thought I’d run a giveaway for a Kindle ebook copy of Pines, the first book in the Wayward Pines Trilogy in anticipation of Kate’s Redemption. I’ve read the whole series as well as several of the Kindle Worlds novellas in the Kindle World. It’s unlike anything you’ve read though it’s compared to Twin Peaks. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I know you will too. Blake Crouch is a very talented author.

I wish you luck!

Wayward Pines Night!

Today is Thursday. You know that means? Wayward Pines night!

D1JLaCrfAiS._SL250_It’s funny how it’s the little things you look forward to during a repetitive week. I mean, The Walking Dead is out of season, Doc Martin is over for another year, and Downton Abbey is also in a lull. So what a treat it was to find out one of my favorite book series was becoming a TV show!

Tonight is the fourth episode of the series, and although I know what should happen next, they’ve skipped around a little and now I have no idea what’s in store. So it’s fun to enjoy the series after I’ve read it, in a different light. This is the TV producers version of Wayward Pines, and though many things are different, it’s still very entertaining. The one thing that’s a little cumbersome to me is the son. Why did they go with an older teen? Perhaps it’s because they needed to show a really dark side of the school, and they needed a perspective of a teen for that instead of an eight-year-old boy. Who knows?

One thing I do know is that I’ll keep watching. In the meantime, did you know there was a Kindle World’s for the Wayward Pines series? There is, and my friend Steven Konkoly wrote a three novella series highlighting the FBI guy Hassler. It’s really awesome. I’ve read them all.

In fact…(I’m saying this quietly; almost a whisper.) I’m working on a novella outline for one of the Wayward Pines characters to submit to Kindle Worlds too. Of course, this is on the side as I finish up Malefic Nation. It may be a few months before that becomes a real thing and I’ll be certain to announce it when it does come out.

Book Review – Wayward Pines Trilogy by Blake Crouch

Holy moly! This is one of those series that keeps you up at night, through the next day and into the following week. The Wayward Pines series is unlike anything I’ve ever read. It’s billed as a cross between Twin Peaks and The Twilight Zone.

After I finished with the first one I recommended it to several people. Typically when you do this, they come back to you later and say, “yeah it was good…but not that good.” Well, that didn’t happen this time. It’s a great series and I definitely recommend you read it right away because, IT’S ALSO AIRING MAY 14TH ON FOX!!! And guess who directed it? M. Night Shyamalan. Yep… Here’s a link to Fox’s site, check it out. That’s right! Matt Dillon is playing the lead character and I think it’s a great fit for the Ethan character. (That guy does not age, BTW.) I don’t watch that much television, but I can’t wait to see how true they stay to the story.

Blake Crouch is a great writer and I admire his work. Here’s a description of the series from Amazon.

The international runaway bestseller is now a Major Television Event from executive producer M. Night Shyamalan, starring Matt Dillon and premiering May 14th on FOX.

Secret service agent Ethan Burke arrives in Wayward Pines, Idaho, with a clear mission: locate and recover two federal agents who went missing in the bucolic town one month earlier. But within minutes of his arrival, Ethan is involved in a violent accident. He comes to in a hospital, with no ID, no cell phone, and no briefcase. The medical staff seems friendly enough, but something feels…off. As the days pass, Ethan’s investigation into the disappearance of his colleagues turns up more questions than answers. Why can’t he get any phone calls through to his wife and son in the outside world? Why doesn’t anyone believe he is who he says he is? And what is the purpose of the electrified fences surrounding the town? Are they meant to keep the residents in? Or something else out? Each step closer to the truth takes Ethan further from the world he thought he knew, from the man he thought he was, until he must face a horrifying fact—he may never get out of Wayward Pines alive.

You can also get this as a trilogy. Trust me when I say, this is a keeper. You won’t want to miss this series and it’s also a Kindle Worlds. I almost forgot to mention that. Kindle Worlds: Wayward Pines

As you can see, my buddy Steven Konkoly wrote a three novella series for the Kindle Worlds: Wayward Pines series. After I read Wayward Pines, I read Konkoly’s novellas and enjoyed them very much.
