Graham’s Resolution Book One Hits #1 in Postapokalyptischer in Germany!

Thanks to my German publishers, Luzifer-Verlag, the first book in the Graham’s Resolution series has hit #1 on Amazon’s German site for the second day in a row!

And…they now have the second book in the series set for translation. The reviews have been great. It seems German readers appriciate the postapocalyptic genre as much as Americans do.

While perusing my publisher’s site I ran across several authors that I know and interact with often. They have some really great books out. One of those authors is G. Michael Hopf.

The-End-Web

His, The End series is quite popular in America as well.

In the Thriller genre, I’m accainted with Ian Graham. In fact, I met Ian in New Orleans last month at Bouchercon 2016. We had a great time there especially in the weapons class.

Black_Shuck-Web

And another British writer I’ve met, no relation, Alex Shaw is also published on Luzifer-Verlag.

Cold-East-Alex-Shaw-Web

So Graham’s Resolution is in good company, or as the Germans put it Grahams Prefung. I can’t wait to see the cover they come up with for book two.

Kindle Scout Nomination Finding Freya

1 (2)

Kindle Scout nomination Finding Freya is the debut novel of M. Feliz

Author M. Feliz is a, near and dear to me, new author. Her debut novel Fatal Ties is the first book in the Finding Freya series. You have a chance to actually get this book for FREE by nomination on Kindle Scout. If you have an Amazon account, that’s all it takes to vote. Just follow the links above and help this new author publish her first book.

As an author, I know what it’s like to be the new kid on the block. It’s tough. Critics come out of the woodwork. But then again, you also meet some of the greatest people who start off as fans. I wouldn’t trade the experience for the world. However, I wish someone had shown me the ropes when I started out. This is what I’ve done for M. Feliz and I’ve got to say her Finding Freya is not for the faint of heart. It’s an action-packed story. I wouldn’t back it if I didn’t believe that. She’s done a great job. I’m really proud of her.

Here is the tagline and blurb.

Your past can catch up to your future.

In a little restaurant in the town of Bandera, Texas, a woman with a rough background dared to create a life for herself away from the nightmare of her past. Unfortunately, your past can catch up with your future. Not only does she need to decide how to forgive but also to take on a new responsibility she never asked for. Will Freya Gama find the strength she needs to face her fears?

A Death in Sweden by Kevin Wignall

A Death in Sweden isn’t so much a James Bond thriller as it is a thrilling mystery. I loved it.

I thought it was a refreshing take on the whole spy, revenge killer thing. There’s a bit of humanity lost in our main character, and he not only recognizes this with the aid of a beautiful Swedish agent, and dead college, he dares to overcome that legacy but not before revenge of course. I thought Kevin Wignall did a great job. His writing is certainly excellent and I’ve got to say I thought it was much better than the bestselling thriller currently running, Girl on the Train.

This is a very worthy read. As a writer myself, I’ve learned to ignore other reviews and choose books based on the author’s merit, not other opinions that seem sometimes to become copycats of their predecessors. Bad habit that… thinking for oneself is so much more worthy.

A Death in Sweden doesn’t actually release until January 1st, but I was able to read it early through Kindle First. It’s worth mentioning that if you are a Prime member of Amazon, there is a new monthly perk where you can obtain one book per month that hasn’t even been released yet! Yipee! There is usually several to choose from, and A Death in Sweden was one of them. This is FREE to Prime members, and if you have it, you can already take advantage of this. Cool huh? I know I was thrilled.

If you are not an Amazon Prime member, I encourage you to become one because of all the FREE 2-Day shipping, music, photo storage, books, live stream shows…so many advantages. It’s awesome, and the yearly fee is well worth just the free 2-day shipping alone. You can watch Man in High Castle, which I recommend, for no additional fees…I’m sure I’m only using half of the advantages as it is but my family loves it and the monthly household products we purchase through Subscribe and Ship are well worth it too. You can even give Amazon Prime as a gift.

Signings, New Vendors & More

Hello. I have a few updates to share about the series.

Availability – I’ve often received emails expressing issues with the ebooks lack of availability beyond Kindle. In the past, I’ve only listed it exclusively with Amazon Kindle however, that has changed this week and The China Pandemic eBook version is now available at most major retailers. Kobo, BN.com, Scribd, Page Foundry, Tolino and of course Amazon. By next month, The Cascade Preppers and The Last Infidels will also be available at these retailers.

Book Signing – I will be reading from The China Pandemic on May 28th at 6pm at the Liberty Lake, WA Library. If you’re in the Spokane area, I’d love to meet you. Bring your paperback book for signing or you can purchase one there. (No purchase necessary) We’ll talk about the series, the publishing world and any other topics that arise.

Editing News – This has been a long journey. One of the most major issues in indie writing is finding a professional editor. Though I’ve had The China Pandemic edited five times, I knew it still needed polishing. So, I finally tracked down the best possible editor with fantastic credentials and he accepted me as a client. He has worked for major publishers. He’s worked for Amazon’s imprint 47north. And he’s worked on many major bestsellers. His name is Brian Bendlin and he just completed The China Pandemic. He is now re-editing The Cascade Preppers and so on and so forth. I’m finally relieved that when I publish something, it will be in it’s best form, from now on and I know you are too. 🙂

In other news, I’ve received a few contacts who are interested in representing the series as literary agents. This means, that possibly in the near future, Graham’s Resolution will be professionally Published. This is something I will only agree to if I do not have to sign a no compete clause which limits the number of books an author can produce in a year. If so, it means the series will be more broadly available and I can focus on writing instead of business; which would be nice…

Last but not least, I’m taking a trip soon to Hope, Canada. Though I’ve traveled to every destination in the series, I haven’t been to where the group is fleeing. I feel no matter how much research you do online, nothing compares to the impression you get gleaning from the place you’re writing about. So next month, off I go and I’ll take pictures to post. (Now I just need to write about Hawaii or France…)

Also, The Malefic Nation is coming along well though I don’t anticipate it release date until the end of summer, I’ll keep you posted. The manuscript is over half way complete and I want the story to end the best way possible. After completion, I’m leaving the series for a while. I may come back and write a prequel and/or a sequel, but I have a few stand-a-lones that I’d like to get out of my system first.

One thing I could use your help with, if you haven’t left a review on the series, please do. I would appreciate reviews on all the books I’ve written including Deception on Durham Road. This is one way you can support your favorite authors.

Thank you for all you kind notes. I welcome them anytime.

Until later!

Mother’s Day Sale

In Honor of (7)

Because I’m a Mom of four great kids who are now young adults, I know the life of Motherhood 🙂 In Honor of Mom’s daily sacrifice, please gift to her the ebook, The China Pandemic for only .99 the entire week of Mother’s Day! May 9th-16th.  Get her flowers, a little chocolate and something unique from you.

She’ll love and appreciate that you recognized her stamina of mom-hood. All those late nights worrying over you. The hand she had no qualms about, thrust before your vomiting mouth. The dirty diaper Dad refused to change, but Mom couldn’t let you go around like that one second longer. The money she transferred to your account to get you out of a bind. Teaching you to cook that meal you used to make your girlfriend adore you. Washed the stains out of your favorite blouse. Told you to always use you as an excuse for peer pressure to keep you out of trouble. The list is mighty long and variations apply. No one loves you like Mom. Always remember that.

Book Review – Departure by A. G. Riddle

At some point, I will catch up on the books I’ve recently read and want to recommend. This one was an easy recommendation, no vacillating on the issue. Departure by A. G. Riddle is a beautifully written book involving a plane crash, time travel and a mystery with a struggle of who to trust with your gut instincts.

Actually, it’s somewhat more complicated than that. A. G. Riddle is from the same technical career as my husband, and they’ve both come to realize there’s a laser edge to all the technical gadgets we’ve come to love and depend upon. Technology can be a precarious and evil thing with too much dependency and reliance. I think most brilliant people in this field come to this conclusion at some point, it’s an aha moment, but that’s beside the point. Departure is an excellent stand-alone read and one I’m sure you’ll enjoy.

Not only that, the novel is slated to become a movie by 20th Century Fox. I love that when I find out after I’ve read a great book that I’ll also get to enjoy it as a movie. It’s about time the film industry turns their attention to a host of creative and often intriguing indie books instead of the same old thing.

Author A. G. Riddle is also the author of the bestselling, The Atlantis Trilogy. His success with that series has led to many opportunities. I’ve only recently met this author, but he’s a great guy and I hope you’ll enjoy his work as much as I do.

Cover & Title Reveal for Graham’s Resolution Finale

Untitled design (1)

Some news about Graham’s Resolution

Now that I’m at the halfway mark of writing book four, I have a better idea of how the series will finish. Yes, this will be the final book in Graham’s Resolution for now. I may come back and write a ‘ten years later’ book in the future and possibly a prequel, but it’s exciting to see that the story is coming to its end. There are still secret plans in the works for the series, however.

So I’m presenting to you the fourth book of Graham’s Resolution with The Malefic Nation.

Malefic

Here is the new cover. The season is summer and I like the way the cover artist, Keri Knutson, has depicted the town below the mountains surrounded by a lake and the brilliant summer sky. She’s a very talented cover artist and I’ve enjoyed working with her on this series.

She also made the Audio cover to match. Darriel Driml is currently working on The Last Infidels audio, and I believe he is nearing completion soon. I hope.

GR4AB

This is a bittersweet realization that the series is nearing completion but I’m ready to move on, and I have a few projects in mind. I do still plan to do a companion novella for Deception on Durham Road, but I’m not sure if that project will be next or if one of my standalone works will  be the next focus.

In any event, I’ll keep you posted. I’ve got a new editor, and he’s very qualified and is currently editing the series, starting from the top.

As for the Presale issue, I didn’t like the way it treated my readers. I think it’s flawed in the release mechanism. So, I will hold off on submitting The Malefic Nation as a PreSale until its near release. I think that’s fairer.

That’s all for now, I welcome questions and comments. Thank you, and I hope you like the new cover!

Author Intro – Sean T. Smith – Sunshine Patriots

IMG_3447

I met Author, Sean T. Smith in correlation to Steven Konkoly’s Kindle Worlds Perseid Collapse release. (That’s a long title) I’d never read anything by Sean before and so after reading his contribution for the PC Worlds (Ha! PC, not.) I thought, heck, this guy can write! And, I mean it. He really can write well.
Sunshine Patriot’s has a smooth lyrical voice. The pacing works. You feel for the characters. I all, I enjoyed it and know you will as well. I think it’s perfect for both male and female readers too.

These PC novellas provide us with a great way to try out new authors without committing to an entire novel. After reading Sunshine Patriots I looked into his other works and then I recognized his covers. Our series often play hop-scotch with one another  when ranking. I love the cover art and I know the story within is great if it’s anything like Sunshine Patriots.

Sean also blogs about writing religion and the apocalypse. I’m not certain in that order but well here’s his website where you can check him out.

Author Intro – Ian Graham & The Amsterdam Directorate

IMG_3452

I met author, Ian Graham during one of our many interview collaborations for the launch of the Perseid Collapse Kindle Worlds. He’s a great guy and has his own success story. He’s the author of several works including a series, anthology contributor and published two novellas for the Perseid Collapse Kindle Worlds cause. He’s a busy guy.

I read The Amsterdam Directorate and, right away, I was impressed with Ian’s writing. We all have our own ideas about what would happen in a disaster like Perseid Collapse but I’ve got to say, Ian’s rendition in this novella was much like my own. As I did, he went for the personal gut wrenching day to day affect survivors would go through.

His main character is a man of religion that has to contront bad guys. He does it with remorse but does it remarkably well all the same. I very much enjoyed this novella and to my surprise he came out with a part two to the story just recently. It’s making it’s way up on my to be read list.

Ian is also the author of several other novels and this novella is a perfect introduction into his work. His most popular work is the Black Shuck Thriller series

I know Ian is working on new projects to keep his fans in reading material. You can take a look at his website and keep up to date on his new released too.
