Scavenger Trilogy by Ross Elder

Scavenger Trilogy by Ross Elder with Allyson Blake

Looking for something to read recently and realized I had not read Ross Elders’ addition to the Perseid Collapse…oh my!

I know Ross from The Edler Statesman. He’s also a great resource as a retired combat vet from the War in Afghanistan…and the man can write from the heart! He’s truly talented.

This is a story that tugged at my heartstrings for many reasons. Not only does it start with a child’s plight of abuse, the survival of such a life leads him to become a man with traits few are granted and equipt to deal with when confronted with the harsh world of the Perseid Collapse. I’ve not read a story like this…it’s unique.

I won’t say more and end up spoiling the story. I just encourage you to read Scavenger. You can buy the trilogy or purchase them one by one. You won’t be sorry. I was truly, blown away, and I’m certainly going to check out his other titles.

Departure from Durham Road – New Release!

Departure from Durham Road is the second novella in the mini-series based on Steven Konkoly’s Perseid Collapse Series for Kindle Worlds.

The first book in the series, Deception on Durham Road, took a secondary character, Jamie McDaniels, and developed her story into a mini-series. The first book drew fans from both the Perseid Collapse of Steven Konkoly as well as the Graham’s Resolution series by A. R. Shaw. That is why I felt the need to write a second novella in the series and I hope Departure from Durham Road fills the fan craving for more of Jamie’s character.

Departure from Durham Road was a fun deviation from my normal genre. It’s actually a mash-up of several genres. I find her intriguing as both a mother and a survivor and hope my fans will as well.

With this new release, I am now able to focus on both Surrender the Sun, a co-book I’m writing with Steven Bird as well as a stand alone I’m really excited about. Stay tuned this year – there’ree a lot of new and exciting projects underway!

Home by Tom Abrahams – The Traveler Series

I just completed reading Home by Tom Abrahams and I’m blown away. This well written, fast paced story is a modern day western.

One that will have you riveted to your reading device. At times, I dodged bullets, cried, and prayed along with our hero who goes by the apt name Battle.

You can feel the emotion within Home. A lot of it’s humor though awful sadness too. It’s one of those books you think about for days later. Home is also a novel of preparedness but not overly so. I think there’s a great balance in Home that will satisfy not only the preparedness reader but also someone who loves to read survival fiction.

More and more readers compare the post-apocalyptic genre with westerns and I’ve got to say, Tom Abrahams proves it with Home. The great thing is, this is only the beginning… Home is the first book in The Travelers series.

Here is the description from Amazon:

HE THOUGHT HE WAS PREPARED. HE THOUGHT HIS FAMILY WAS SAFE. HE WAS WRONG.

Five years after a pneumonic plague killed two-thirds of the world’s population, army veteran Marcus Battle is isolated. He’s alone with his guns, his food, and the graves of his wife and child.

Unaware of the chaos that’s befallen everything outside of his central Texas ranch land, Marcus lives a Spartan life. If anyone steps onto his property he shoots first and never ask questions.

But when a woman in distress, chased by marauders, seeks asylum, Marcus has a decision to make.

Does he throw her to the wolves to protect himself or does he help her and leave the shelter and protection of home?

If you’ve not heard of Tom Abrahams before, he’s from my home state of Texas. He’s also a news anchor for Eyewitness News in Houston, Texas. I met Tom, virtually, through the collaboration with Steven Konkoly’s Kindle Worlds Perseid Collapse project.  As I wrote Deception on Durham Road, he wrote three novellas, The Pilgrimage Series, as his own contribution. Either I’m a slacker or he’s an overachiever. 🙂 I’m just getting started on the second novella my own series.

He also has a successful three book series out titled, A Jackson Quick Adventure and a stand-a-alone, Sedition.

I know you’ll enjoy Home by Tom Abrahams as much as I did. It certainly is a new twist in post-apocalyptic fiction.

Durham Departure – Cover Reveal for a Perseid Collapse Novella

DurhamRoad2

It’s time for the cover reveal for the short story I’m currently working on. Durham Departure is the second book in the Deception on Durham Road series I’ve written for the Kindle Worlds Perseid Collapse series.

The story is coming along well and as soon as it’s complete, I will let my newsletter fans know first as it’s sent off to my editors. This is a short story about 25 thousand words and it continues Jamie’s adventure after the fall. She’s now responsible for three girls with no family or friends around. How will she make a life for them and what happens when they’re forced to flee. If you think you can predict where this is going, you’ll be surprised as I was writing it. It’s not what I expected. I hope you’ll enjoy the story as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it.

At the same time, I’m working on a co-book story with author Steven C. Bird. We are complete with the first ten chapters and sending it back and forth as we both develop separate parts. It’s a fun project and I hope it turns out well, I’m pretty sure it will. More on that later.

If you’d like to keep up to date on my writing projects and learn about great book deals join my newsletter list where I send out something once a week or so, letting you know what’s happening or who might be having a great sale on their books.

Author Introduction – The Pilgrimage Series by Tom Abrahams

Twitter Post

I met Tom Abrahams in association with the Kindle Worlds Perseid Collapse group. He’s a multitalented guy, fellow Texan and great family man. Not only is he a successful author, Tom is also a news anchor for KTRK in Houston, Texas.

He’s interviewed some of the most famous people in the world and witness both triumphs and tragedy, it’s no wonder he’s a good author as well.

I’ve read the first in his contribution to the Kindle Worlds, Crossing. Tom takes a completely different view and shows what it would be like for a vacationing family to survive the mess that is Perseid Collapse. I think he did a great job with Crossing and after reading this one, I’ve got the other two in the series on my To Be Read File.

Not only that, Tom is the author of several other full-length novels.

The tag line for his work is, Political Fiction with a Punch and Sedition leads the way. The President of The United States is dead. There is no Vice President to take his place.

As the nation slips into a constitutional crisis, a small group of disenfranchised neo-patriots conspire to violently seize power.
They have the will. They already have someone on the inside. And they have the explosives.

Standing in their way is a woman who listens to conversations not meant for her to hear. She reads mail not intended for her to see. She knows their intention. But can she stop them in time?

SEDITION is a smart, fast-paced, modern day political novel woven in reality and based on the 1820 British plot, The Cato Street Conspiracy.

It navigates the thin line between good versus evil and patriot versus traitor, proving there’s always a reason behind treason.

So if you like the realism and historical context of a Dan Brown thriller, mixed with research of a Tom Clancy novel…you’ll love SEDITION.

Allegiance is another series Tom has underway. And the description starts like this,

Beer, Redheads, And Politics…  Jackson Quick should have known better.
First, he trusted a Texas politician.
Then he fell for a leggy woman.
Worst of all, he drank a beer that tasted funny.
Now he’s running for his life, trying to piece together how he fell into a battle over something so small it takes a high-powered microscope to see it.

I think reading these novellas is a great introduction to new writers and their work. It’s a small investment of both budget and time to read a novella. Once you’ve completed reading you get a sense of the author and if you really enjoyed their style, check out their mainline work. I’ve enjoyed each and every one of these novellas and I hope you will too.

Cover & Title Reveal for Graham’s Resolution Finale

Untitled design (1)

Some news about Graham’s Resolution

Now that I’m at the halfway mark of writing book four, I have a better idea of how the series will finish. Yes, this will be the final book in Graham’s Resolution for now. I may come back and write a ‘ten years later’ book in the future and possibly a prequel, but it’s exciting to see that the story is coming to its end. There are still secret plans in the works for the series, however.

So I’m presenting to you the fourth book of Graham’s Resolution with The Malefic Nation.

Malefic

Here is the new cover. The season is summer and I like the way the cover artist, Keri Knutson, has depicted the town below the mountains surrounded by a lake and the brilliant summer sky. She’s a very talented cover artist and I’ve enjoyed working with her on this series.

She also made the Audio cover to match. Darriel Driml is currently working on The Last Infidels audio, and I believe he is nearing completion soon. I hope.

GR4AB

This is a bittersweet realization that the series is nearing completion but I’m ready to move on, and I have a few projects in mind. I do still plan to do a companion novella for Deception on Durham Road, but I’m not sure if that project will be next or if one of my standalone works will  be the next focus.

In any event, I’ll keep you posted. I’ve got a new editor, and he’s very qualified and is currently editing the series, starting from the top.

As for the Presale issue, I didn’t like the way it treated my readers. I think it’s flawed in the release mechanism. So, I will hold off on submitting The Malefic Nation as a PreSale until its near release. I think that’s fairer.

That’s all for now, I welcome questions and comments. Thank you, and I hope you like the new cover!

Author Intro – Sean T. Smith – Sunshine Patriots

IMG_3447

I met Author, Sean T. Smith in correlation to Steven Konkoly’s Kindle Worlds Perseid Collapse release. (That’s a long title) I’d never read anything by Sean before and so after reading his contribution for the PC Worlds (Ha! PC, not.) I thought, heck, this guy can write! And, I mean it. He really can write well.
Sunshine Patriot’s has a smooth lyrical voice. The pacing works. You feel for the characters. I all, I enjoyed it and know you will as well. I think it’s perfect for both male and female readers too.

These PC novellas provide us with a great way to try out new authors without committing to an entire novel. After reading Sunshine Patriots I looked into his other works and then I recognized his covers. Our series often play hop-scotch with one another  when ranking. I love the cover art and I know the story within is great if it’s anything like Sunshine Patriots.

Sean also blogs about writing religion and the apocalypse. I’m not certain in that order but well here’s his website where you can check him out.

Author Intro – Ian Graham & The Amsterdam Directorate

IMG_3452

I met author, Ian Graham during one of our many interview collaborations for the launch of the Perseid Collapse Kindle Worlds. He’s a great guy and has his own success story. He’s the author of several works including a series, anthology contributor and published two novellas for the Perseid Collapse Kindle Worlds cause. He’s a busy guy.

I read The Amsterdam Directorate and, right away, I was impressed with Ian’s writing. We all have our own ideas about what would happen in a disaster like Perseid Collapse but I’ve got to say, Ian’s rendition in this novella was much like my own. As I did, he went for the personal gut wrenching day to day affect survivors would go through.

His main character is a man of religion that has to contront bad guys. He does it with remorse but does it remarkably well all the same. I very much enjoyed this novella and to my surprise he came out with a part two to the story just recently. It’s making it’s way up on my to be read list.

Ian is also the author of several other novels and this novella is a perfect introduction into his work. His most popular work is the Black Shuck Thriller series

I know Ian is working on new projects to keep his fans in reading material. You can take a look at his website and keep up to date on his new released too.

Author Introduction – Alex Shaw

I’ve known Alex Shaw for nearly as long as I’ve been an author. We met on Twitter and shared each other’s book links and then one day a fan asked if he was my spouse. Uhmm….nope. Alex lives in England and even though we share the same last name, we’re not related. Don’t get me wrong he’s a great guy, as far as I know in a virtual sense.

What I do know for sure is that Alex is a great author. He’s got the thriller James Bond style down tight. So when I became involved with the Perseid Collapse group, he was interested too and wrote a novella for the cause. I just finished reading Blackline by Alex Shaw and I can say without a doubt it’s a fast paced, heart thumping, experience. He takes a guy on vacation and turns his down time into an action packed catastrophe, Perseid Collapse style. It’s a great intro into Alex Shaw’s gritty, never-boring, humorous writing that his fans abroad adore.

Here are a few of his mainline novels.
